Create a free Fabric server

What you can start with

Choose Fabric and a supported Minecraft version in Manage, then install compatible individual server mods through the catalogue. Read the release review and its required files before confirming. The installer includes required dependencies declared in the catalogue when it can verify them; the author's instructions still matter for additional requirements and player-side files.

You get a custom name.chunkarc.net address and a choice of Europe or North America during creation, subject to availability. The Free Beta needs no credit card. It is intended for modest worlds and testing; the 2 GB base allocation is not a promise that a particular modpack will fit.

Create a free Fabric server

Check the fit before you create

  • If you want a few specific Fabric mods, check that compatible server releases and their dependencies are available for your Minecraft version.
  • If the pack requires Forge or NeoForge, this Fabric catalogue workflow is not interchangeable with it. Check supported software before choosing a host.
  • If the pack author provides dedicated-server requirements, compare them with 2 GB RAM and 5 GB storage. Leave room for the world and its growth.
  • If you require a server that stays running while empty, read the idle-stop policy first: Free Beta servers stop after 15 consecutive minutes without players.

A mod count cannot predict performance. World generation and the particular mods affect memory use. Start with a small set, test a real join and watch the console and memory readings before adding more.

Server mods and player mods are separate steps

Installing a mod on the server does not install it on your friends' PCs. Share the Minecraft version, loader and required client mod releases with your group. Client-only visual mods generally stay in the player's launcher instance. Follow the exact project's environment requirements.

The mod installation guide covers the Manage catalogue and player setup. For a missing library, use Fabric Loader vs Fabric API. If startup or joining fails, follow the modded server troubleshooting guide.

Full modpacks need a separate compatibility check

This catalogue workflow installs individual compatible mods. It does not offer automatic full-pack installation or promise arbitrary JAR uploads. A client pack can contain files that do not belong on a dedicated server. A .mrpack is a pack format, not a plugin JAR.

Check the pack author's server instructions and the Modrinth pack format. A popular pack name or a successful launcher import does not prove that it will run on this plan. See the RAM planning guide before choosing resources.

Keep the Free Beta limits in view

Free Beta servers stop after 15 consecutive minutes without players. This is a beta service; availability and features can change. Read the complete free hosting offer and Fair Use Policy before creating a server.

New customer backups use your personal Google Drive. Connect it in Manage and check your available space. Automatic schedules are optional and off by default; copies wait for the server to be off. Keep a recoverable world copy before changing or removing content mods.

If you want plugins rather than Fabric mods, compare the Minecraft server software options. You can use the same Manage account to select the supported software that matches your project.
