Check the Bedrock client, Geyser build and Java backend as separate parts. Do not reset the world or switch off authentication to work around a version error.
Collect the information that identifies the mismatch
- The exact error, player edition and time of the attempt.
- The Bedrock version shown by that player.
- The server’s Java version and software.
- The Geyser build and any proxy or protocol translator in the route.
Compare the attempt with the server and bridge logs. If the player never reaches the bridge, investigate the address, assigned Bedrock port and network route before changing the world. A timeout and an explicit version rejection are different symptoms.
A game release and bridge support are separate
The Geyser supported-versions page lists the client and backend versions it handles. Check the installed build and its release information too: wiki text and newer builds may be updated at different times. A successful Java join does not prove Bedrock compatibility.
Geyser’s FAQ also explains that it cannot translate most mods that require a modded client. Cross-play is not a way to make a client-required Java modpack work on Bedrock.
Change one component, then test the same join
If the installed bridge is behind a supported release, obtain the matching build from the official project. Keep a copy of its configuration and plan the required restart. If a proxy handles Bedrock, updating a different backend plugin may not change the component that receives the player.
Repeat the same player’s join and compare the new log. Avoid adding several translators or downloading random JARs at once: it becomes harder to tell which change helped. Do not remove authentication or share bridge secrets to troubleshoot.
For a ChunkArc server
Use the address and Bedrock port assigned to that server, not an assumed port from a tutorial. Bedrock support depends on the selected software and configured bridge; this article does not mean it is enabled on every Free Beta server.
If the needed controls are not available, open a support ticket with the versions, exact error and attempt time. Share only the relevant log lines and remove tokens, passwords and private addresses. For general connection errors, follow the connection checklist.
