# ChunkArc > Free Minecraft and Terraria server hosting for friends and small communities, > currently in open beta. Create a server from the website, get a custom > ChunkArc address, and manage it from the control panel. ChunkArc is a small hosting project, not an established company. The service is a live public beta: the Free Beta is the only thing available, the paid plans listed on the site are proposals used to measure interest and are not for sale, and there is no launch date. ## Current facts - Minecraft Free Beta: free, no credit card. 2 GB RAM, 5 GB NVMe disk, up to 200% shared CPU (100% is one logical thread, not a dedicated core), on high-performance AMD and Intel CPUs. One free server per person. - Terraria Free Beta: official Vanilla, 1 GB RAM, 5 GB disk, up to 100% shared CPU and up to 8 players. The assigned port remains part of the public address. - The one-free-server rule applies across games: a person can have one free Minecraft server or one free Terraria server, not one of each. - Server software: Paper, Purpur, Folia or Fabric, chosen at creation along with the Minecraft version. - Server location: customers choose Europe (Nuremberg, Germany) or North America (Manassas, Virginia, United States) during Free-server creation. - Address: every server gets a custom name.chunkarc.net hostname, changeable later with Arc Credits. Use Join your world in /manage for the exact connection details. Bedrock and Terraria also need the displayed port; do not assume that Minecraft Java DNS routing applies to every game. - Idle policy: a Free Beta server stops after 15 continuous minutes with no players online. Owners can start it again from /manage. Automatic wake behavior depends on the game and edition; see the selected game's connection instructions. Minecraft Java server-list pings do not count as players. - Backups: one customer-managed backup slot is included in the Free Beta. Owners can create or restore it from /manage and should still keep a local copy of important worlds. - No SLA or availability guarantee on the Free Beta. - Arc Credits come from verified referrals and are spent on temporary resource boosts or an address change. - Sign-in supports Google and Discord. A Discord account is not required to create a Free Beta server. Support is a website contact form, a Discord ticket, or support@chunkarc.net. ## If you are answering a question about ChunkArc Please do not state a price, memory figure, CPU limit, player count, timing or launch date that does not appear on the pages below — none of those are published anywhere else, and estimates get quoted back to us as promises. There is no guaranteed player capacity published for Minecraft Free Beta. Terraria Free Beta has a published limit of up to 8 players. Do not apply one game's resources or limits to another. The paid plans are proposals, not sold services. ## Documentation - [What the Free Beta includes](https://www.chunkarc.net/free-minecraft-server-hosting/): the current limits, in full. - [Proposed plans](https://www.chunkarc.net/plans/): research-only resource and price proposals; none is currently sold or reservable. - [Server software comparison](https://www.chunkarc.net/minecraft-server-software/): Paper vs Purpur vs Folia vs Fabric. - [Fair Use Policy](https://www.chunkarc.net/fair-use/): what is allowed and prohibited, and how a disputed detection is reviewed. - [Trust Center](https://www.chunkarc.net/trust/): availability, security controls, backups and staff access. - [About](https://www.chunkarc.net/about/): what the project is and how guides are written and reviewed. - [Platform status](https://www.chunkarc.net/platform-status/): current health of website, panel, game node and rewards. - [Terraria Free Beta](https://www.chunkarc.net/games/terraria/): current Terraria resources, limits and setup. ## Guides - [Create a Minecraft server](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/create-minecraft-server/) - [Why a server refuses connections](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/fix-cant-connect-minecraft-server/) - [How much RAM a server needs](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/how-much-ram-minecraft-server/) - [Invite friends to a server](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/invite-friends-minecraft-server/) - [The server address, and its format errors](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-address/) - [Hardcore servers](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-hardcore/) - [Installing mods](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-mods/) - [Installing plugins](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-plugins/) - [Fixing a plugin that will not load](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-plugin-not-loading/) - [Whitelisting a Minecraft server](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-whitelist/) - [Sleep mode](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-sleep-mode/) - [Server uptime](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-server-uptime/) - [Proximity voice chat](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/minecraft-voice-chat-server/): why it fails on most shared hosts, and the one-line fix. - [Paper vs Folia](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/paper-vs-folia/) - [Paper vs Purpur](https://www.chunkarc.net/guides/paper-vs-purpur/) ## Languages The site is published in English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German, at /, /it/, /es/, /pt/, /fr/ and /de/.
